It is that time of year again when we are thinking about where we will go for our holiday. Some people have been planning for months and others are just now deciding where to go.  If you live in the United States, then you will probably want to go to Europe or maybe west to the Philippines or Asia. For most people the weather is very important during their trip. Unless you are heading for a ski resort and then it doesn’t matter much. But people who live in colder climates tend to head to the warm areas to enjoy some sunshine as they relax by a pool. If you are heading to southern Europe then you might want to explore some the island that are in the Mediterranean Sea.

There are many islands here and they all have their own character and climate so check around to help you decide which one to choose. Greece has many islands and off the coast of Spain, there are the Balearic Islands. This chain of island is made up of three main islands which are: Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca.  This is one of the most popular tourist area in the Mediterranean because of their beaches, climate and tourist installations. If you want to experience the Majorca holidays then you should know that this island is known for not only its towering mountains in the northeast, but its caves in the east with quaint villages and picturesque coastlines. The port of Majorca is a very important port in the Mediterranean and used by many.

If you are planning on visiting the island of Menorca, then that island will offer you beaches, interesting coastal towns and many monuments for you to admire. Ibiza is where you go if you want to experience the nightlife. This is a party island and known for attracting clubbers from all around the globe for the wild times that are had there. Package holidays for any of these islands can be found through a travel agent. Spain is located between Africa and Europe so it has many natural attractions. Here is where the mountains and ocean meet and that creates a wet climate that is perfect for vegetation to flourish. There are many legends that exist about the earliest inhabitants of these islands. Sandy beaches and excellent climate is what brings visitors back time and time again. In 2007, over twenty-four million people passed through the airport at Palma and it is said that another two million came by sea.
