If a travel agent were to tell you that he’d book a trip for you to a holiday summer resort, with beautiful beaches ranging from large open beaches to stunning rocky beaches with impossible formations, a beautiful countryside, green and vibrant, and an active nightlife, complete with a warming people and excellent tourist facilities, could you guess where he was sending you?

You’re probably thinking something tropical like Thailand or Hawaii or perhaps a Mediterranean island like Ibiza or Santorini. But there’s an unlikely destination that fits in that description: the county of Dorset, in the South of England.

It’s true that the English summer isn’t as warm as those of places closer to the equator. But it’s also true that quality means more than just super warm weather. Dorset facilities are simply top notch, with the beaches being extremely well kept and the countryside is just stunning. Dorset hotel rooms come in a huge variety, and with excellent quality.

There’s really not much room for discussion when it comes to price even. Flights to England are super cheap if you can find a low cost carrier and book early enough, and a trip to Dorset by train or bus will by no means break the bank.

Heathrow is an international airport and the world’s busiest. It has for some time now been regarded as the hub in the world of aviation with over ninety airline making this airport their base. There are four terminals at Heathrow airport and just about sixty-three million passengers annually. Heathrow offers approximately one-hundred-and-seventy destinations with two main runways plus a cross wind runway.

Heathrow is just one of the seven UK airports that BAA owns. The others are Gatwick, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh. If you are looking for Heathrow Airport hotels, know that there are many in this area. The Holiday Inn London Heathrow is just half a mile from the airport and so is the Holiday Inn London Heathrow Ariel. Crown Plaza is two miles from the airport and there is a free bus that runs through the hotel strip and back to the airport. In one area, which is east of Heathrow’s entrance tunnel, the buses run non-stop. You will also find car rentals at the airport with ten companies to choose from. There is also a shuttle service if you want to go that way and a limousine service for those who want to travel in style.

Finding a travel destination isn’t the hard part. We all have an idea of where to go and what to want to see and what to do. It’s having enough money to go out and enjoy ourselves that sometimes keeps us from enjoying ourselves.

One of the greatest money guzzlers is, of course, the place where you stay. Cheap hotels aren’t easy to find, but not impossible. There are some guidelines that you can follow that’ll guarantee that you’ll find a cheap hotel – even if it’s just cheap for the country’s standards.

First of all, if you want cheap, steer clear of the city center. Prices are bound to get cheaper when you move away from the center, especially if it’s an especially tourist filled city. Bite the bullet and take a bus or a metro, it’ll end up being cheaper. Also, avoid the high season. A lot of hotels now have a “middle” season, for spring and early and late summer, that’s more competitive than the high season. Also, keep in mind what you’re going to do wherever you’re going. If you’re going to see some museums, you won’t need a hotel with a swimming pool. Make sure your hotel caters to your needs and doesn’t exceed them, and you’ll save money.
