You’re sitting at your desk at work, day after day and looking forward to the weekend. Better yet, looking forward to your holiday time coming up and where you will go. You might have already done the tropical island trip, the ski lodge in the Alps and the road trip, so what now?

Just close your eyes and picture yourself on the deck of a luxury cruise liner, something you have never done before. You feel the ocean breeze on your face and taste the salt in the air as you bask in the sun by a pool with a good book in your lap. You begin imagining a cruise to some far off destination and think about heading to northern Europe.

Your vision become clear and you find yourself on a cruise to Norway, a location that many call one of the great natural wonders of the world. This is a land of unique beauty, forests framing inlets of water that is crystal clear. Here you can learn about Norway’s history and Viking legends told my locals who live in brightly colored cottages in charming villages. OK, snap out of it and go online now to book your dream cruise now.

Several people pick their holiday destination for seemingly strange motives, but that make a lot of sense to them. One of these reasons is language. Some people only go on holidays to places where they know they’ll be understood. Although this may sound strange nowadays, when most people speak English, it starts making sense if you’re either not an English speaker and don’t have a big grasp of the language or if you’re travelling to a poorer country where people aren’t all that educated.

But when going to the Caribbean, be it on a luxury liner or a cheap Caribbean cruise ship, you would think that most people in the ports would be able to speak English, if not just for the constant inflow of tourists. But that isn’t always true. If in Puerto Rico and Havana (but not all of Cuba) finding someone who speaks English is easy, in the other islands of the Caribbean it can get a bit tricky.

All except one: Jamaica. A former British colony, like some others, it kept English as its official language, although the accent may sound a bit odd to begin with. And it’s a paradisical holiday destination like any other, with beautiful beaches lining up next to awesome cities full of history, and a very warm and welcoming people.

Planning a romantic get away that is both unique and exciting can be difficult. From couples who are well traveled, to those who have never left the country, it is hard to come up with the perfect, most original idea for a holiday. Whether you are engaged, married, or just committed, you want to give your significant other a vacation to remember. Flying to an exotic country is nice, but common. If you’re looking for the chance to plan the perfect romantic get away, then consider a cruise.

Cruises are popular and one of the most relaxing vacation destinations possible. With cruises, often everything is inclusive, which means there is no running around trying to find a place to get cash, currency conversion, or stress. Everything you will ever need on your vacation will be right on board, and on top of that you still get the excitement of exploring a new city, or a few! Cruise liners have all the luxuries and comforts you crave, without any of the stress of trying to navigate a new city. You eat, sleep, play, and relax all on the same vessel, with the chance to see new places every day. A cruise is the way to go.

We’ve all seen the news when the new mammoth cruise liner with 5 olympic pools, 10 tennis courts and 3 indoor malls sets sail, and we’ve all seen the faces of the cruise dealers stating that “it’s just like a small town, only better”. But although those are indeed the ideal holidays for a lot of people and, certainly, worth trying out at least once, many of us would prefer to actually experience what a cruise is all about and see a little bit of ocean while traveling without a big McDonalds sign right next to it.

Personally, I loathe the large cruise ships, not because of their size but because of what they can’t do. People often don’t realize that those large liners will sometimes spend as much time waiting to get to a port as they do traveling there, and that the picturesque small harbors that host the most worthwhile beaches are almost always closed to them. So you’ll be stuck in a floating small town and when you actually get to leave it you’ll be stuck in a big town and, at least to me that feels too much like home. For me, the best cruise deals are in a small, versatile ship that can take me anywhere and everywhere.
