Personally, I loathe the large cruise ships, not because of their size but because of what they can’t do. People often don’t realize that those large liners will sometimes spend as much time waiting to get to a port as they do traveling there, and that the picturesque small harbors that host the most worthwhile beaches are almost always closed to them. So you’ll be stuck in a floating small town and when you actually get to leave it you’ll be stuck in a big town and, at least to me that feels too much like home. For me, the best cruise deals are in a small, versatile ship that can take me anywhere and everywhere.
